Chairman’s Chat

Chairman’s Chat.

Hi I hope you are all enjoying the glorious Sunshine and summer weather we are now having. After a very wet start to the rally season it is good to see that the weather that caused many of the cancellations has I hope now left for distant shores, long may it remain there. Some of those rallies were cancelled because members were waiting to see if the weather was good or their work commitments were uncertain. There is a cut off point at which the Marshal has to contact the committee regarding possible cancellation, due to low advance bookings. At this point if we have to inform the land owner that we will be cancelling they become disappointed, as do the other members who are affected by this decision. Please if you do think a rally would suit your needs send in a booking. If it becomes necessary you can cancel.

The Television recently has been full of sporting activity with Ascot and Wimbledon disrupting the airing of tipping point which certain members of my household class as a must see. Then came the world cup, the end result was not as the Nation would have liked. However you have to admire the determination of such a youthful team, which can only bring great hope for the future.

Our own centre members young and older did us proud and served the centre very well when for the third year running they won the Henrietta Spivey trophy at the Joint Yorkshire sports. Two of our young rallies won their own individual trophies. They were Ada Davies (Victrix Ludorum) and Mason Lloyd (Victor Ludorum). Congratulations to all of the competitors and thank you for entering into the spirit of the competition in a friendly manner.

When you renew your Caravan Club Membership each year, please remember that you need to Re-Register with “The East Yorkshire Centre”. See this website or ring the Club. Their telephone No. is on the back of your membership card.

June and I look forward to meeting up with you on a rally field somewhere soon. Our centre has many rallies still to come this season, the Dinner Dance at York and the Bonfires at Driffield are two. Have a look in the rally handbook or on this website and find one that you would like to join in with and enjoy it.

Safe Journeys to wherever you go.

Bist Woshes,
Tim & June.
